Fertilizer Law:

Hello Members,

PVL would like to remind all lake front homeowners as well as any home within 25 feet of the waterfront OR spillway, stream or drainage point leading to the main lake that application of fertilizer in New Jersey is strictly prohibited. In 2011 Governor Christie signed into law the “Healthy Lawns Healthy Water” – a three phase act intended to ensure and protect all state lakes, rivers and streams from the harmful effects of nitrogen and phosphorous rich additives.

Please refer to the links below to read more about what the law states, possible exemptions and certain blackout calendar dates for all property owners. If you have any questions regarding the efficacy of the law, it’s enforcement, fines or penalties that may be assessed, you may call the NJDEP at 866-337-5669.
